Friends of Farmdene - Annual Doctor's Talk

Our popular annual doctors’ talk is on Wednesday 26 September, at 7.30pm at The Barn, Field Place. This will include guest speakers and an interactive talk with “Question Time” given by doctors and nurses of the Strand Medical Group. Please note, this is not the occasion to quiz your GP about personal ailments. For reasons of Health and Safety, admittance will be by ticket only, but as usual the tickets will be free and obtainable from the reception desk at the Practice. We are looking forward to another full house.

EMIS Patient Access Online Booking System

Please note that there have been some temporary glitches with the online EMIS system recently, particularly with the appointment booking system. This is supplied by a third party provider and beyond the control of the practice. We believe the error has been fixed, but please be aware from time to time the service may suffer from interruptions and technical issues.

To use this online service patients must first be registered and issued with a Patient I.D. and a registration token allowing them to create a username and password to access the system.

If you would like to sign up to use our online services please come into the practice and fill out the registration forms and bring valid photo I.D. with you.

Seasonal Flu Vaccinations

Seasonal flu jabs should be available at the practice in October and November for at risk patients or those aged 65 or over. Please contact the surgery on 01903 843400 to arrange an appointment closer to these dates.

Seasonal flu is a highly infectious respiratory illness caused by a flu virus. It spreads rapidly through the coughs and sneezes of infected people. Seasonal flu immunisation, or the flu jab, is the injection of a vaccine against flu. It gives good protection from flu that lasts for one year.

The flu jab is offered to people in at-risk groups, who are at greater risk of developing serious complications from flu. To stay protected, they need to have it every year. The vaccine, which is normally available in the autumn, is made from the strains of flu that are expected in winter.
