Surgery hours

We are open 8.30 am - 1.00 pm Monday to Friday, and from 2.00 pm - 6.00 pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and from 3.00pm - 6.00pm on Thursdays.

We hold a Thursday evening surgery primarily for those patients who work or are unable to attend during daytime surgery hours. Appointments can be booked in advance on 0116 852141.

• A Doctor can be booked from 6.30pm – 7.30pm

• A Nurse can be booked from 5.30pm – 8.00pm

Out of hours

Please note that the surgery is closed from 6.00 pm until 8.30 am the following day and closed on weekends. On Thursdays the practice is closed from 1.00pm except for a late night commuter's surgery.

If you need to contact a doctor in an emergency,when the surgery is closed you should phone South East Health between 8.00 - 8.30am and 6.00 - 6.30pm by dialling 03000 242424; Between 6.30pm and 8.00am on weekdays, at weekends and on bank holidays, all patients should dial 111 to speak to the new NHS 111 service. The 111 service wil assess your symptoms and if required refer you to the local on call duty doctor. The duty doctor will be on call for several surgeries and you will usually be asked to attend an emergency clinic so that the doctor can examine you. 

Home visits can only be made for the genuinely housebound. The duty doctor is only available to deal with very urgent medical problems which cannot wait until the surgery reopens.

The NHS 111 service provides out of hours cover Monday to Friday after 6.30pm and 24 hours Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays. The NHS 111 service is available for general medical advice 24 hours a day and has replaced NHS Direct.

Calls to NHS 111 are free from landlines and mobile phones.
